Gentle Western Horse Training Focused on Calm Starts and Confident Futures

I’m Ellie, the trainer behind Breaking The Untamed. My work focuses on starting horses thoughtfully, building confidence through steady exposure, and creating calm, reliable western horses from the beginning.
I specialize in gentle breaking that gives horses time to understand new equipment, environments, and expectations without rushing or forcing progress. I keep training consistent and predictable so horses can stay relaxed and willing as they learn.
I work hands on with each horse and keep my programs intentionally small so quality and safety stay the priority. My goal is to create horses that are easy to handle, comfortable being ridden by different people, and prepared for real world situations.
At the core of my approach is the belief that a good start matters. When horses are given clarity, patience, and time to process, confidence follows.

Most training challenges don’t come from a horse being difficult. They come from being rushed, unclear expectations, or not having enough time to process new experiences.
At Breaking The Untamed, we focus on giving horses a solid start through calm, structured exposure and consistent handling. New equipment, new environments, and new riders are introduced gradually so horses can stay relaxed and learn without pressure.
By slowing things down and building understanding step by step, horses gain confidence, reliability, and a willingness to work that carries into everything they do next.
Gentle breaking means starting a horse in a way that prioritizes calm exposure, clear expectations, and steady progress. Horses are introduced to groundwork, tack, and riding at a pace that makes sense for them, without rushing or forcing compliance.
My training is western based. The goal is a safe, balanced, and willing horse that is comfortable being ridden in real world settings like trails, arenas, and around everyday activity.
Yes. Horses are gradually exposed to new environments, animals, sounds, equipment, and situations in a calm and controlled way. The goal is confidence, not overwhelm.
